As our Data Security Architect, you will be tasked with data security design activities along with our journey. You are expected to address complex data security issues such as cross region data replication, data localization and retention. You are required to address and review data security risk issues, give recommendations and support on remediation activities. You will also be trusted to provide technical advice to ensure that data security is managed throughout all business units.


Key responsibilities

  • Drive the data security risk identification, assessment, reporting, governance, management, mitigation and policy compliance to protect our customer data, financial data, transactional data and systems.
  • Design and implement scalable and secure reference architecture to address data security and privacy issues from global and local compliance requirements.
  • Advocate the data security agenda across the organization, research and evaluate emerging data security solutions.
  • Partner and collaborate closely with multiple departments, including business, technology, legal & compliance and operations.
  • Establish and maintain data security metrics to highlight information assets that have the highest risk exposure. Conduct regular review of remediation actions and reporting to business and technology senior management. Frequency of reporting should be proportional to the level of risks.
  • Establish data asset management policies and standards that includes asset inventory management, data classification and criticality to the business execution.
  • Assess and manage data exposure to third party services that may affect privacy, integrity and availability of the data systems by ensuring third parties employ high standards of commitment for data protection and system resiliency.
  • Good understanding of industrial standards and relevant local regulatory requirements for the Group's operating locations; including ISO 27001/27701, SOC2, NIST Privacy Framework and CIS Benchmark.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of data security tools, methodologies and best practice, including various database architectures, file systems, encryption, backup and recovery, data loss prevention, data classification.
  • Industrial certifications from CSP such as AWS, Microsoft, GCP, Oracle, IBM or from other data security vendors are advantages
  • Ability to identify and resolve risks and issues, or prompt escalation to management if they are not able to be resolved
  • Use project management experience and knowledge to drive focus on effective and timely delivery of activities, managing the critical path and reporting regularly on status of deliverables
  • Advocate for Data Security and builds strong relationships with senior stakeholders across all business areas to ensure deliver and embedder of data protection and data security throughout the organization
  • Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships at all levels;
  • Able to prioritize, plan and multi-task in a fast-paced collaborative team environment and organize activities systematically;
  • Able to work independently;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent oral/written communication and presentation skills;
  • Minimum 7 years of hands-on technology consulting or solution advisory experience in a fast paced working environment
