Remote

Want to help build Web 3.0? Triton One operates the largest Solana RPC deployment with 24/7 operations coverage. We're a fully remote team working across the globe, and we're looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer to architect and operate our global network that underpins critical infrastructure for Solana, SUI, and other ecosystems.

This role is open to candidates located in any time zone.

About Us:

Triton One is an international, fully remote company specializing in high-end infrastructure services for blockchain and other ecosystems, including Solana, PythNet, Wormhole, Sui, Eclipse and Monad.

In the past year, we have (among many other things):

  • Created and open-sourced key pieces of Solana infrastructure as part of our Yellowstone project:
    • Dragon’s Mouth gRPC for streaming services provides a standardised way to access Solana’s geyser interface
    • Old Faithful, the first full history archive of Solana

  • Built high-performance indexing on Solana in the form of Steamboat for program queries
  • Worked together with other ecosystem actors to make the Digital Asset API a production-ready service

In the coming year, we look forward to building further developments of the Solana RPC stack and building better services for other chains. We’re crypto natives who provide bespoke infrastructure for DeFi & NFT applications. Join us and help build Web 3.0!

The Role:

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer to take ownership of our global network architecture, performance, and reliability. In this role, you’ll apply your deep expertise in modern networking protocols, low-latency design, and automation to build and scale the backbone of our critical, large-scale blockchain infrastructure.

You will:

  • Design, implement, and manage our global BGP network for low-latency service delivery.
  • Architect and maintain our overlay networks using technologies like BGP EVPN, VXLAN, and Wireguard for secure and scalable connectivity.
  • Perform deep network performance tuning on Linux bare metal servers, leveraging advanced tools like eBPF/XDP to minimize latency.
  • Manage and optimize our load balancing and service mesh infrastructure (HAProxy, Consul) to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to optimize network protocols and paths for high-throughput services like gRPC or the transaction delivery network.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of network architecture and operational procedures.
  • Stay current with changes in the protocols and tooling we support.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Although the focus of this role is network engineering, there’s room to grow into other areas depending on your strengths — whether that’s platform engineering, blockchain infrastructure, or data system architecture.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of relevant work experience in network engineering roles, particularly in high-performance or service provider environments.
  • Deep expertise in BGP, including Anycast and EVPN.
  • Extensive experience with Linux network stack tuning and optimization on bare metal.
  • Solid understanding of networking protocols and overlay technologies (VXLAN, Wireguard).
  • Proven experience with load balancers like HAProxy and service mesh technologies like Consul.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills — we speak several languages, but work mostly in English.

Preferred skills:

  • Prior experience with Solana, SUI, or other blockchain infrastructure, especially regarding transaction propagation.
  • Experience with eBPF/XDP/VMA for network processing.
  • Familiarity with the broader HashiCorp stack: Nomad, Vault.
  • Experience with network monitoring and observability stacks (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
  • Programming experience in Go, Rust, or Python is a plus.

Don’t meet all the “preferred” criteria? Don’t let that stop you! Let us know if your application where you’d still need to get up to speed – the most important thing to us is that you love taking on big challenges, and learning new skills while solving problems.

Compensation:

We offer competitive compensation based on experience, available either as full-time employment or hourly contracting — we’re flexible. Payment can be made in several crypto or fiat currencies.

Our interview process:

Our team works hard to build a high-trust, high-transparency environment. You’ll be working directly with team members across all areas of the business and you’ll be driving your own projects, so it’s important that you’re comfortable taking ownership of your work and outcomes.

For that reason, a successful interview process looks like:

  1. A brief screening call with our Business Manager
  2. A technical interview with members of your future team and one of our founders
    1. You should be comfortable discussing technical challenges during this process

Excited? Please send your resume and portfolio or samples of your work to [email protected].

We can’t wait to meet you!
