Wellfield is a public company listed on the TSX Venture Exchange (WFLD). Wellfield is building technology that unlocks the future of decentralized finance through its two core brands, Seamless and MoneyClip.

Seamless enables financial services solutions with several verticals, built with decentralized technologies, developed on public blockchains. These verticals are liquidity shift between blockchains and increased utilization of liquidity through financial instruments.

MoneyClip is a developer of a digital wallet offered to Canadian consumers. MoneyClip is in the process of evolving to provide various financial products and services within its digital wallet.

Your Role: Financial Accountant

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Financial Accountant to join our growing company and finance department! In this role, you will be joining the Controller and CFO, working closely with them to maintain our financial records and assist management with budgeting and operational decision making. You will have ownership over the day to day financial accounting and assist management with month-end accounting and reporting. As the department grows, this role will be responsible for management and oversight of additional accounting hires. The ideal candidate should possess independence and drive, looking for this role as an opportunity to grow in their career.

Compensation: $60,000 - $70,000 base salary, plus benefits and participation in the company’s equity incentive program.

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform day to day accounting duties including:
    • Review and enter all payables transactions including vendor invoices & credit card expenses
    • Prepare month-end journal entry schedules including all revenue and expense accruals, prepaid expenses and depreciation for review
    • Reconcile payroll activity initiated by HR and post related journal entries
    • Review automated revenue recognition transactions
  • Complete bank, credit card and other key general ledger account reconciliations to assist the Controller in the month-end close process
  • Assist Controller with preparation of monthly and annual operating budgets
  • Work alongside the Controller on ad hoc projects and quarterly reviews

What You’ll Need:

  • 2+ years of financial accounting experience (public or industry)
  • Demonstrable confidence to perform full-cycle accounting including preparing journal entries and performing reconciliations
  • CPA or other professional designation would be an advantage
  • Technical knowledge in financial accounting standards, with IFRS experience as an advantage
  • Attention to detail, collaborative, and a self motivated mindset are valued for this role
