The Business and Institutional Partnerships organization is tasked with cultivating multifaceted relationships across industries and markets with organizations looking to grow the ecosystem built on the Internet Computer. This places it as a key organization at the DFINITY foundation, to understand market performance, advise on product development, and drive strategic business development. Your role will be analyzing the competitive landscape for the financial markets to help the organization understand the financial impact of developing certain products and services, measuring the viability of entering certain markets, and calculating the impact of strategic partnerships. As a critical member of the team, you are expected to contribute to executive level strategic discussions and collaborate closely with team members to develop market strategies. As a key financial analyst, you will play a critical role in discussions with external market analysts and provide information to the communications teams on the financial impact DFINITY’s proposals

Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with our internal finance teams, develop robust financial models - develop quantitative trading or relative value models
  • Act as liaison to external financial market analysts and communicate key metrics to financial teams (TPS, Inflation/deflation rate, growth projections, etc)
  • Provide financial impact assessments of new proposals to market analysts and financial researchers
  • Monitor financial news and assess impacts
  • Develop and maintain valuation models and keep abreast of staking opportunities and protocol regulatory updates
  • While primarily Fundamental, this role will also contribute to factor based analysis of crypto assets.
  • Quickly get up to speed on the crypto industry including technology, legal, regulatory, economic, and protocol details
  • Collaborate cross-functionally, developing, reviewing and providing feedback on reports.
  • Dive deep into key valuation drivers, thematic views and industry trends
  • Conduct research, participate in conferences, meet with leadership teams and keep tabs on sentiment within the industry
  • Perform well-structured, bottom-up fundamental research on the industry to identify strategic opportunities

Requirements:

  • Deep interest and excitement for blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies and the new frontiers they will enable
  • Extensive experience in bottom-up fundamental research
  • An understanding of modern portfolio theory, multifactor risk methods, and factor based investing.
  • Solid track record of performing research and effectively summarizing your findings to a variety of audiences. You’re capable of creating high-quality reports within tight timelines.
  • Prior experience in the crypto industry (ideally in research) a plus!
  • You’re deeply analytical, agile, and pride yourself on intellectual curiosity
  • Entrepreneurial and startup-minded. You’re comfortable with risk and working in fast-moving and ever-changing industry
  • Masters Degree in Finance or Economics. Financial Engineering and Mathematics is a plus!
