Tower Research Capital, a high-frequency proprietary trading firm founded in 1998, seeks a Rust Engineer to drive the growth of an exciting new business: Tower Research Ventures. This role will report to the Director of Venture Capital.

Tower Research Ventures is the venture capital group within Tower Research. Tower runs a significant cryptocurrency trading business, and the venture capital group within Tower aims to leverage Tower's unique positioning to invest in projects early in their development.

Responsibilities

We envision this person researching opportunity areas, auditing code of potential portfolio companies, and overall driving our investment thesis. You could be a developer for a project and dive deep solving a singular problem, but instead want the breadth of exposure venture investing can bring. Specifically, this candidate should be able to evaluate the technical gaps in the market, and recommend opportunities of focus for our team.

  • Drive the team's focus by researching technical opportunities in the space: evaluating technical solutions in the market and opportunities for projects to provide a solution
  • Leverage your technical expertise to establish relationships with the top entrepreneurs and builders in the space
  • Write and publish reports for internal and external use
  • Audit prospective projects code to help identify vulnerabilities

Qualifications
  • A bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • A strong background in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming
  • At least 2 years of writing production-level Rust or Solidity code, either personally or professionally
