What you’ll do:

As a critical hire for the marketing team at Public, you will be responsible for driving organic growth by building relationships with key partners in the fintech ecosystem, from thought leaders and creators to community counterparts at like-minded brands. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, you will help new individuals and communities discover Public and execute tactics to keep community partners engaged, which might include digital and in-person events, content partnerships, surprise and delight moments, and overall relationship management. Ultimately, you will help ensure everyone who talks or writes about retail investing has Public on their radar. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who loves building community and is excited about working cross-functionally as part of a fast-paced, high-performing marketing team.

You will:

  • Identify and proactively engage with online communities (i.e. Reddit/Discord, YouTube creators, Substack writers, college investing clubs) for both evergreen conversation and to activate around key marketing launches
  • Keep a pulse on online community discussions and bring these to the marketing and editorial team to shape marketing messages, value props, content strategy
  • Work with marketing and communications team to plan and host events for community partners, i.e. launch dinners, product feedback sessions, webinars
  • Collaborate with community partners to concept and produce co-branded content
  • Identify active, vocal, or influential members of Public community who could serve as brand advocates
  • Oversee Public’s in-product community feed, fostering conversation and engagement among existing members
  • Assist Director, Marketing in execution of co-marketing brand partnerships
  • Assist product and marketing team with optimizing Public’s member referral and VIP programs

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in roles where you built and managed relationships, which could be in a community-oriented role or in roles like influencer marketing or account management
  • Stellar negotiating skills, with a keen sense of what would add value to partner (note: this role does not manage a paid budget but you work on co-marketing partnerships)
  • Creative, outside the box thinker who thrives in a brainstorm
  • Active on social media, with past experience or desire to dive deep into investing communities and stay up to date on the latest news and trends in the fintech and investing space.
  • Comfort maintaining a public social media profile

Bonus Points:

  • Experience working within the fintech space
  • Experience managing an ambassador program, or similar
  • Currently actively engaged in online investing communities

The pay range for this position in NYC is $100,000-$130,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on market location.
