The Department: Platform

Our Platform organization’s purpose is to enable Gemini to scale effectively and empower our engineering teams to focus on building innovative financial products and experiences for individuals around the world. Platform focuses around building a scalable and secure foundations platform, enabling Engineering to deploy, validate, and operate their services in production, improve resiliency of the service and increase organizational efficiency by reducing operational toil and increase system efficiency through architectural evolution.

The Role: Senior Associate, Resilience Management & Compliance

As a Senior Resilience Management & Compliance Analyst you will be responsible for the implementation of our policies and procedures, and coordination of risk assessments and audits within the Technology department as a whole. Working as part of our broader Production Engineering Team, this position will be a key personnel in coordinating around BCM, Governance within incident and problem management, and governance functions for the Gemini technology group which are in adherence to local, federal, and international regulations. An ideal candidate will have strong focuses in risk management, cross team collaboration, and providing overall technology governance and improvements to processes which lead to the stabilization of the overall ecosystem.  

This is a hands-on position, working across the technology department, and cross-functionally across Gemini in partnership with Product, Risk, Audit, Security, and Customer Support. You will be actively involved in the expansion of our BCM program, Incident & Problem Management (triage when needed), auditing process, and refining team processes. You will coordinate with teams from across the organization in multiple aspects including getting projects safely delivered quickly, becoming a beacon of clairvoyance for audits, and rallying team members when needed end-to-end. You possess a strong sense of ownership and a desire to improve on every iteration. This role is required to be in person twice a week at either our Seattle, WA or New York City, NY office.


Responsibilities:

  • Track, review, and report on the implementation of technology processes (eg., Incident, Problem and BCM)
  • Help technology teams design and optimize their processes, in line with Gemini’s policies
  • Help technology teams manage and report on their operational responsibilities through metrics and dashboards
  • Work with Audit and Risk departments to conduct audit and risk assessments of Technology

Qualifications:

  • Advanced expertise of typical technology support frameworks. Eg ITSM, ITIL
  • Advanced expertise in Google Suite, including the use of macros, complex formulas, and automation techniques and BI tooling. Eg. Looker
  • Advanced expertise of ITSM tooling, processes and reporting, eg. Jira, Rootly (incident-Problem Management tool), Service Catalog and CMDB
  • Experience writing technical documentation or designing knowledge bases
  • Experience with toolings, e.g. git, github, confluence and Jira
  • Experience with hands on programming (and scripting), methodologies and best practices
  • Experienced in working with APIs and managing authentication through API keys for data integration and automation
  • Extensive experience with SaaS platforms, including integrating third-party services and extending functionality through APIs, webhooks, and custom configurations
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Experience with internal and external technology audits
  • Advanced experience with incident and problem management, BCM and overall operational resiliency
  • Knowledge of current / pending regulatory requirements pertaining to operational resiliency
  • Experience engaging with highly technical teams in order to achieve appropriate resolution outcomes in a fast paced environment
  • Comprehension of devops best practices
  • Great communication both written and oral. Able to explain concepts fluently to a diverse group of stakeholders
  • Strong ability to deconstruct complex problems into manageable tasks with a solution-oriented approach focused on efficient resolution

Salary Range: The base salary range for this role is between $115,500- $165,000 in the State of New York, the State of California and the State of Washington. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate’s compensation, we consider a number of factors including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.

In the United States, we have a flexible hybrid work policy for employees who live within 30 miles of our office headquartered in New York City and our office in Seattle. Employees within the New York and Seattle metropolitan areas are expected to work from the designated office twice a week, unless there is a job-specific requirement to be in the office every workday. Employees outside of these areas are considered part of our remote-first workforce. We believe our hybrid approach for those near our NYC and Seattle offices increases productivity through more in-person collaboration where possible.
