We are looking for a Communications Lead to significantly raise the bar in how we tell the story of the Helium Network. You'll help reshape our narrative, drive content creation, run campaigns as you see fit, consider new educational resources, and celebrate the community's achievements around the world.

You love writing and bring strong opinions (weakly held) on how to craft a message. You have experience leading brand, political, or similarly scoped campaigns. You excel at content ideation and know the recipe for top quality productions from wide reaching interactive to a targeted blog post. You hold yourself accountable through metrics and proactively report on results.

Your Role

• Develop positioning and communications strategies for the organization and the broader Helium ecosystem. Help the public understand the promise and potential of Helium and showcase the stories that are already delivering on that.
• Build a communications roadmap for new features, ecosystem products, partnerships, and other community updates.
• Lead the creation of compelling interactive and informative content surrounding the Helium Network.
• Prepare press releases, bylined articles, and company announcements.
• Onboard and work with an agency partner. Own and manage the execution of successful PR programs.
• Cultivate new and existing relationships with media and influencers. Identify and maintain targeted press lists, proactive pitch opportunities, industry research, and trends.
• Manage day-to-day media relations, inbound press requests, and speaking inquiries.
  
  

Requirements

• Experienced as a Communications Director leading a public relations, political or brand campaign, or senior communications-related role.
• Outstanding communication skills as a writer and speaker. Able to distill thoughts into concise expression.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to the ever-changing start-up environment.
• Strength in developing pitches, press releases, and company communications.
• Mindful and thoughtful about cultural differences in communicating (we're a truly global project).
• Preference for demonstrated excitement for Web 3.0, crypto, or wireless innovation.
• Passionate about great storytelling and connecting with audiences.
