About Story
Story aims to grow the creativity of the internet. The internet has introduced revolutionary new methods of developing and distributing creative work: endless remixing, participatory franchises, and AI-generated content. However, our current intellectual property infrastructure works against the openness of the internet instead of embracing it. Story is building an IP infrastructure optimized for the internet era.
Our mission is to unleash the creativity of the internet by building the native IP infrastructure layer of the web. Our open IP repository enables creative IPs — prose, images, audio, and more — to record their evolutionary journey from inception through the endless combinatorics of digital co-creation. Beyond tracking the provenance and attribution of IP as it grows, we also provide modules that power frictionless composability, allowing anyone to contribute to an IP and to capture the value of that contribution.
Just as Git revolutionized the development of open-source software by encompassing the networked evolution of code, Story is transforming the development of creative IP.
Our team features deep expertise in media, tech, and business. Founding team members are successful serial entrepreneurs. We are a Series B company with $140 million in funding, led by a16z and other top-tier investors.
The Role
As the Ecosystem Partner Integration Engineer at Story, you’ll be the go-to technical expert and relationship manager for our ecosystem partners. Initially, your focus will be on owning day-to-day interactions with partners, providing them with integration support, and ensuring a smooth onboarding experience. Long-term (and depending on candidate), the role could transition into a forward-deployed engineer role, a highly strategic role deeply embedded with the most important partners to proactively understand their needs, build trust, and co-develop tailored solutions that can be integrated back into Story’s ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Immediate Partner Support & Onboarding: Act as the main point of contact for inbound technical requests, guiding partners through onboarding and initial integration with Story.
- Forward-Deployed Engineering (Long-Term): Collaborate directly with key partners on-site as needed, diving deep into their technical challenges and identifying solutions that enhance their use of the Story platform.
- Product Consultation: Provide high-level product advice that aligns with partners’ goals and Story’s roadmap, working to optimize partner integration and success.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work alongside the Product, Engineering, Dev Rel to ensure cohesive support, and effectively meet partner needs.
Requirements:
- Technical Acumen: Strong foundation in blockchain fundamentals and hands-on experience with web technologies (e.g., TypeScript, React); Web3 & Solidity knowledge is a plus.
- Entrepreneurial Mindset: Proven ability to identify and understand partner needs, develop solutions, and think creatively about new opportunities.
- Relationship-Driven Approach: Ability to build trust and long-term relationships with both partners and internal stakeholders, earning a reputation as a reliable technical advisor.
- Problem-Solving Orientation: Approach technical challenges with a solutions-focused mindset, comfortable navigating ambiguity and troubleshooting issues effectively.
- Growth Potential: Experience in scaling a function, with the ambition to grow a team and expand partner support capabilities over time.
Why Join Story?
At Story, you’ll be a critical player in creating a dynamic partner ecosystem where creativity, collaboration, and innovation flourish. If you’re a crypto-savvy engineer with a blend of product sense and technical skills who thrives in cross-functional environments, we’d love to connect. Grow with us as we build the future of IP management in the blockchain world, where you’ll have the opportunity to shape the role and eventually build a team to scale this function.
