In case you haven’t heard, non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are the newest, most explosive movement in the world of crypto. With the power of blockchain, it is now possible to truly own digital assets on the internet in a way that wasn’t possible before. Even though excitement over NFTs is only just beginning, sales have already hit $2.5B this year and it can be a bit difficult to explain why.
For many, it’s a way to support their favorite artists, and for others it’s a way to curate impressive collections of ultra-rare collectibles. Just as cryptocurrencies are set to revolutionize the world of economics and finance, NFTs are going to rewrite how we think about digital goods.
For Reddit, it will always be about community. As the “frontpage of the Internet”, Reddit brings over 430 million people together each month through their common interests, inviting them to share, vote, comment, and create across thousands of communities. If there is one thing we’ve noticed with NFTs, they too have an incredible power to create a sense of participation and belonging. With every new NFT project, a vibrant community of owners pops up with it. Fans of today’s biggest creators and brands are now flocking to buy digital goods directly from them -- to support them, to gain exclusive access, and to feel a greater sense of connection with them. Over time, we believe this will only grow, and NFTs will play a central role in how fans support their favorite creators and communities.
We are hiring a strong QA Engineer to act as an advocate for quality in this rapidly growing and global product. In this role, you will be a champion for quality across functions (eng, product, design) and throughout the entire product lifecycle, and will drive improvements in product quality both preemptive and reactive. The role will involve some manual testing and test planning for upcoming functionality, but the true charter is to eliminate manual toil by proactively investing in rich test automation and more effective processes. If you ask us, the NFT movement has only just begun, so come and join our team to get started.
Qualifications
- 5+ years as a QA Engineer in a fast paced agile environment.
- Experience working with Quality Assurance tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).
- Proven experience leading projects from its inception to full release while working with cross-functional teams, including test planning, manual testing, and automation.
- Passion for hunting those elusive, pesky bugs and working with partners to get them fixed.
- Strong proficiency (3+ years) working with an object-oriented programming language (e.g., Python, C#, Java, Javascript, etc)
- Experience in developing robust E2E/UI automation tests on multiple platforms (Web, Mobile) using mature testing frameworks (e.g., Appium, Selenium, Playwright, Pytest, etc)
- Experience in developing API level tests
- Proficiency working with CI/CD systems (e.g., Jenkins, Bitrise, DroneCI, CircleCI, Spinnaker)
Nice to Have
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and deep knowledge of CI/CD processes.
- Experience building successful test UI automation frameworks from scratch using standard test design patterns that have been used by other developers/QAEs alike.
- Good understanding and practical experience developing load tests.
- Experience working with media products and/or real-time products.
What does a Java developer in web3 do?
A Java developer in web3 would likely be focused on developing applications that use the Java programming language in the context of the web3 technology stack
Web3 is a collective term used to refer to the next generation of decentralized, blockchain-based technologies that are aimed at creating a more open and secure internet
In this context, a Java developer would be responsible for writing code that interacts with web3 technologies, such as decentralized applications (DApps) and smart contracts, to create new tools and services that run on the blockchain
This could involve working with cutting-edge technologies such as Ethereum, which is a popular blockchain platform that uses the Java programming language, as well as other web3 technologies and frameworks.
