About the team

The Finance team is made up of professionals supporting a wide spectrum of Cake DeFi’s financial management functions. Being one of the key pillars of the organization, the team oversees financial operations (accounts payable and receivable, record keeping, fixed assets tracking), planning and analysis (management reporting), regulatory compliance and reporting (annual audit, financial statements filing and tax compliance), and treasury management. We also work closely with other functional departments to support strategic decision making, accountability of customer funds, and leverage extensive experience to provide valuable insights to the organization’s executive team. In this rapidly developing industry, the Finance team is responsible for ensuring that the organization stays up-to-date on the latest regulations, industry standards, and internal control best practices to allow the organization to adapt to changing market conditions and emerging trends. What you’ll do

• Act as the bridge between Finance and Engineering business units. A trusted business partner that understands engineering constraints while delivering insights for Finance and Operational reporting needs.
• Extract, analyze, and interpret data from blockchain networks and databases.
• Develop and execute SQL queries independently for data extraction and reporting.
• Understand and execute ETL processes as needed.
• Leverage Tableau to create dashboards for management reporting and analysis. The solutions should empower end-users to be self-reliant without the need to code, to communicate complex data to non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with other business units, especially Product, Engineering, and Business Intelligence teams.
• Be comfortable managing, analyzing, transforming, and reporting voluminous digital asset transactions, both on-chain and in databases, into valuable insights for accounting and reporting purposes.
• Support data requirements in internal/external audit and compliance activities including regulatory applications and filings with authorities.
• Lead Finance and Operational automation improvement projects. You’ll be required to independently develop scripts to automate manual Finance and Operations reporting processes via SQL/Python integration. Experience with API connections and access security will be a plus.

What you’ll need

• Degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, Computing, Finance, Accounting.
• Experience in financial services, fintech, or crypto industry will be a plus.
• Experience working with databases, we use PostgreSQL.
• Extensive proficiency in SQL and query optimizations is a must.
• Experience in and ability to read and code in Python.
• Data analytics, dashboarding, and visualization skills, experience with Tableau and Databricks will be a plus.
• Proficient in MS Excel - lookups, pivot tables, conditional formulas.
• Familiarity with financial metrics, accounting, and finance operations.
• A good eye for detail and ability to turn complex data into useful insights for Finance and Operational purposes.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, with experience drafting documentation.
• Self-driven, meticulous, organized, team player.
• Willingness to adapt, be versatile, and take on tasks outside of pre-defined job scope to solve problems.
• Passionate about the crypto industry. Being up-to-date with the latest trends in DeFi networks and blockchain technology.

• We work on a hybrid basis - comfortable working both physically in the office and remotely.
