Alpha Square Group is seeking a motivated and capable Investment Analyst/Associate to fill a full-time position on its Investment Team. The Analyst/Associate will support all aspects of the investment process, including analysis of current and prospective fund and direct company investments. Intern/Analyst/Associate will also be responsible for portfolio and manager analytics and in-depth market and financial diligence. The position is structured as a 2-3 year commitment with the opportunity to grow responsibilities over time.

Key responsibilities include:

• Play a key role in the research, analysis and evaluation of established and emerging investment sectors within Web2/Web3 infrastructure and application
• Proactive origination and screening of any investment opportunities including inbound and outreach
• Conduct deep due diligence and prepare investment memo for direct investments and fund investments
• Support deal execution and ongoing post-investment management/value-adds for existing portfolio companies
• Conduct ad hoc investment-related projects as needed

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in math, engineering, and computer science (alternatively, economics with experience in data manipulation is required) with up to four years of relevant work experience (such as product management, business, investing or at an early-stage startup)
• Excellent analytical, technical and quantitative skills with a passion and ability to identify and try new products, understand the competitive landscape and develop key market insights
• Intellectually curious, with a strong interest in technology, startups, and innovation. A long-term approach to investing
• Self-motivated, results and growth oriented
• Able to work independently and collaboratively with high attention to detail
• Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment and think creatively
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal

Bonus Points:

• Technical background or experience in data science a plus
• Strong financial analytical skills
• Strong network within VC/Startup world
• Experience of building up the database system is strongly preferred
