About the role
As Legal Counsel you would be a part of the team of 80+ people.
As such, your contributions to the team will have a big impact.
You are ideally located in Singapore, though our work is 100% online.
The position is full-time.
Responsibilities
You will
- Work within a matrix structure, providing legal support across multiple units with different business requirements, in the form of:
- Drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements, including SaaS licensing agreements, outsourcing or service agreements, third-party vendor agreements etc
- Assessing and mitigating risks with intellectual property, data protection and cybersecurity, engaging external counsel as needed
- Liaising with external corporate secretaries on corporate governance, preparing resolutions, setting up of entities, etc
- Responding to ad hoc queries regarding legal and contractual obligations
Are you the right person for this role?
The ideal candidate for us is:
- Singapore qualified lawyer, with at least 3 to 5 years of legal experience in a law firm or in-house counsel role
- preferably with experience working in growth-stage tech startup
- Experienced in corporate and commercial matters, with excellent drafting and negotiation skills
- Commercially astute, highly-driven and focused on achieving practical outcomes
- Able to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to internal stakeholders
- Able to prioritise and deliver in a fast-paced, remote-first environment
- Bonus: Personal interest in crypto trading and DeFi
- Bonus: Proficiency in other major languages (e.g. Chinese or Spanish)
