About the team:

As we grow our Compliance function globally, we are now looking for an exceptional individual to join the team and drive our strategic plans to ensure our compliance capabilities are fit to support the wider business development over the next 3-5 years. The role in a nutshell:

The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be capable of leading in the oversight of Luno’s Regulatory Compliance framework. Reporting to the Global Head of Compliance, you will be an integral member of the Compliance team, working with all areas of the global business to help ensure that Luno maintains a robust and responsible compliance programme. Most importantly, you will be passionate about compliance, with a drive to contribute to and enhance the strong compliance culture across the organisation.

Your mission will be:

  • Develop and maintain Group Regulatory Compliance Policies and Standards
  • Develop and maintain group framework for managing breaches of policy and regulatory requirements
  • Provide advisory support to 1LoD on all RC matters
  • Develop, maintain and monitor Group-wide RC reporting and MI
  • Define Group-wide approach to regulatory horizon scanning, regulatory interpretation and industry intelligence, as well as managing regulatory and industry interaction at a Group level
  • Define compliance training and competence framework (incorporating both RC and AFC Training requirements)
  • Provide oversight and support to the Country Heads of Compliance and Group Level 1LoD functions

In your first six months, you will

  • Immerse yourself in Luno, ensuring you have a deep understanding of our business and our customers
  • Develop strong relationships across the Luno team, and with key third parties
  • Become a trusted expert in all aspects of Luno’s Regulatory compliance programme, always with an eye to continuous improvement

  • Previous experience of drafting and maintaining Policies

  • A desire for continuous learning, with the ability to quickly adapt to an ever-changing environment
  • Experience in the cryptocurrency industry (desirable, but not essential)
